What we’re doing
In Woolloomooloo, we have completed a new pedestrian crossing at Cowper Wharf Road and Brougham Street, near McElhone Stairs.
The first stage of work was completed in June 2019. This included:
- relocating the bus stop 20 metres north
- extending the footpath to replace the existing bus slip lane
- relocating a light pole near the crossing.
We have installed traffic signals at this new crossing point to make it safer for the community. The new signal-controlled pedestrian crossing was completed in August 2020.
There’ll be no changes to traffic lanes or parking after the works are complete.
