Pay a library fine
You won't be able to borrow from our collection until the amount is settled.
Project Status: When you need to do this
If you have an overdue item or an outstanding fee your library membership will be temporarily suspended.
Membership suspension means you won't be able to borrow from the library including the digital collection, download music from Freegal or use the computers and printers.
All suspensions are lifted once the overdue items are returned and any lost and inter-library loan fees are paid.
What you need to do
- You can pay library fines at any staffed library branch.
- You can check the details of your membership including whether you have any overdue items or outstanding fees at any time by logging into your online account.
If you have an overdue item or outstanding fee
We’ll send you a reminder 4 days before your items are due and on the due date. An overdue notice will be sent 1 week and then 28 days after the due date. If still not returned, the item will be marked as lost and fees will apply.Our fees and charges
Lost or damaged items incur a processing fee as well as a replacement cost. Processing fees are listed below, as well as the replacement costs of some specific items.
Overdue fines
Following a successful trial, we’re waiving fines for overdue loans until 30 June 2021. As long as you return your overdue items, you won't be fined, no matter how overdue they are.
Any overdue fines previously paid cannot be refunded.
