What we’re doing

The community participation plan sets out all our community participation requirements under planning legislation, including minimum consultation periods and notification requirements. It applies to planning proposals, contributions plans, draft development control plans, planning agreements and development applications.

The proposed changes are in response to recent changes to planning legislation by the NSW Government. These removed the requirement for councils to place notices in local papers for planning matters. The proposed changes also respond to reduced circulation of local newspapers.

The plan continues the opportunity for the community to meaningfully participate and contribute to the planning process through notifications on our website and notices mailed to neighbours.
