Proposal to heritage list 46 Chisholm Street, Darlinghurst

We are considering to add 46 Chisholm Street, Darlinghurst as a heritage item in the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012.

What we’re doing

The proposed heritage listing will recognise its significance as a rare example of a mid to late Victorian weatherboard cottage that retains its early form and its detail to the front. The property contains the only remaining, timber weatherboard cottage from the earliest development of the Chisholm Estate.

As part of planning for Sydney’s sustainable development, heritage listing identifies places with heritage value worth retaining for the benefit of current and future generations. This exhibition is your opportunity to have your say on the heritage value or listing of this place.

This listing was previously open for feedback in late 2019. We're seeking feedback on this proposed heritage listing again, due to a minor administrative error in the length of the previous consultation period.

If council approves this planning proposal after public exhibition, it will be sent to the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment. The department will amend the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 on behalf of the Minister for Planning.
