In light of the evolving Covid-19 pandemic, the City of Sydney has made the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming Sydney Climate Action Summit including the Student Dialogue Forum on Climate Change.
The decision follows the World Health Organization declaring Covid-19 (novel coronavirus) a global pandemic and was made in consultation with our international partner, C40 Cities. We received a great deal of interest from schools wanting to attend the Student Dialogue Forum so we plan to hold the event in the future. When we do, we will contact all those schools who have registered.
We would like to give a voice to high school students on leading local actions to address climate change. The student dialogue forum will provide students with an opportunity to discuss key themes relating to climate change including:
Students will also have the opportunity to discuss their ideas for climate action with the Lord Mayor on the day. The dialogue forum is a great opportunity for students to engage with other students and decision-makers on an issue of increasing concern to young people.
