Disclose a political donation or gift
Gifts and donations to City of Sydney councillors, their party, employees or contractors must be disclosed when making a planning application or submission to council.

When you make a development application (DA) or comment on a DA, you must disclose if you have given a gift or made a donation to a councillor, an employee, or an approved contractor of the City within the past 2 years.
What you need to do

Download and complete a disclosure statement
Ensure that all fields have been filled out correctly.lease note that fields on this form marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed before submitting the application.

Lodge with your planning application or submission
You can lodge the completed disclosure statement as part of the supporting documentation for an application or submission.
This form should only be lodged as part of an application or submission about a specific matter to be considered by Council.
Before you start
Gifts and donations given to City of Sydney councillors, their political party or elected group must be disclosed when you make a development application (DA) or comment on a DA. This also includes anything gifted or donated at the time they were a candidate for election to Council.
Donations or gifts given to employees or approved contractors of the City must also be disclosed.
Reportable donations and gifts need to be disclosed if they were given by:
- the applicant or entity submitting a DA
- any person or entity with a financial interest in a DA
- any person or entity making a public submission about a DA.
Disclosing reportable donations and gifts covers the 2-year period before the application or submission was made, up until the DA is determined by Council.
After you finish
We're required to retain the DA gift and donation disclosure statements made by applicants and people lodging public submissions about a DA.
We must make the disclosures available to the public after an access to information request has been made under the Government Information (Public Access) Regulation 2009.
