These grants will help individuals and collectives develop new projects during the Covid-19 pandemic. Projects can be presented during or after the pandemic has passed.

Artists, creative producers, curators and other creative workers.

  • Your time – project development
  • Fees for people working with you
  • Training and professional development

How much you can apply for

Up to $20,000

Types of projects we’re looking for

  • Research or creative development of new arts projects or performances.
  • Innovative ways to keep creative professionals collaborating and working during restrictions on public gatherings.
  • Methods for artists to engage with diverse communities.
  • Creative solutions to help communities recover from the pandemic.
  • Developing networks and resources for the sector to deal with shocks, adapt to change and build long-term resilience.

What you’ll need to demonstrate

  • A significant loss of revenue
  • You’re an individual, sole trader or a group auspiced by a cultural organisation
  • Networks and professional experience within local cultural and creative sectors
  • You can develop new projects and work with community and cultural organisations
  • How you’ll develop and share your project within 6 months of receiving funds

Read the guidelines and complete the online application before 5pm, Monday 27 April 2020.

Timeline

  • Applications close: 5pm, 27 April 2020
  • Council meeting: 18 May 2020
  • Funds released from: 1 June 2020

We are currently revising our operational plan in response to Covid-19 pandemic, including allocating the funding to this grants program. Any decision to grant financial assistance will not be made until after Council has approved the revised operational plan at its May Council meeting.
