These grants will help sole traders and not-for-profit arts enterprises with less than 20 full-time employees, who’ve lost income due to Covid-19. If you’re an organisation that relies on income from events, classes, exhibitions, hiring out workspace or other public programs, this is a good grant for you. Who can apply

Sole traders and not-for-profit organisations working in the cultural sector. For example, performing arts organisations, creative producers, arts festivals, arts support organisations, dance schools, galleries, collaborative studios and other cultural spaces.

What the funds can be used for

  • Staff wages
  • Wages for freelance or casual workers who have lost work
  • Administrative costs
  • Training and professional development
  • How much you can apply for
  • Organisations: $20,000
  • Sole traders: $10,000

What you’ll need to demonstrate

  • You employ less than 20 full-time equivalent employees, not including artists employed on a casual basis
  • A significant loss of revenue
  • A turnover of less than $10 million
  • You’re located within our area or serve our local community
  • How existing support from other levels of government is inadequate
  • How you plan to adapt your operations to the restricted trading environment

We are currently revising our operational plan in response to Covid-19 pandemic, including allocating the funding to this grants program. Any decision to grant financial assistance will not be made until after Council has approved the revised operational plan at its May Council meeting.
